This art piece, titled "Under the Tea" , is inspired by the work of renowned artist, Lindsay Rapp. Rapp's paintings focus on ocean imagery to bring awareness to the conservation of coral reefs and other marine life. Being passionate about the conservation of natural habitats I wanted to use similar methods to relay a message. The piece portrays the concept of mother nature claiming back what is hers and spilling forth from her point of containment. The piece is made solely from clay and high-fire glazes were used to obtain the various shades of color and glossiness associated with ocean life.
